If you import ingredients, compliance with the Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) is required. This course is designed to explain the FSVP rule and its requirements, including hazard analysis, evaluation and approval of foreign suppliers, importer identification, record-keeping, and FDA oversight. Developed by the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) in consultation with the FDA, this training aligns with FDA’s enforcement policies.
The FSVP rule mandates that a “qualified individual” must perform your FSVP activities. The FSPCA curriculum is divided into Part 1 and Part 2:
- Part 1: A 12-module, self-paced online eLearning course. Part 1 to be completed prior to Part 2.
- Part 2: A two-day course taught by Larisa Pavlick, MarketReady Insights Regulatory Programs Manager and former FDA Investigator.
Upon completion of Part 1 (virtual and self-paced) and this two-day course, participants will receive an official FSPCA certificate confirming they have met the FSVP training requirements. If on-site training is required, a customized quote will be provided.
